MATERIALS: Ruby Foil, Pencil, Liquid Graphite, india ink, collage, acrylic paint and an American coin.
This mixed media piece has a kind of "graphic novel" approach to it's composition. I created it specifically to use as a cover image for a rereleased song "dark thing (obsession mix)" by Johnny Hollow in 2021. I wanted the type to be bold, in-your-face and incorporated directly into the illustration.
I used an old 45 record as part of the backdrop for the painting (glued to wood panel)... because I liked the idea of using an old vinyl as a starting point to create something for the purpose of digital streaming media. Something old for something new.
This framed piece is ready to hang.
