Print Type: Etching Zinc Plate with Chin Collé

This was a part of a series where I imagined the various types of pets that Alice (from Alice & Wonderland) might have at her side.
This intaglio print was made in 2000.
The print was created by hand etching the image onto a metallic zinc plate. The textures were crafted by using various soft ground and aquatinting techniques. I used a process known as "chine collé" to add another layer of colour and texture to the print.
There are currently only 3 artist proofs available printed on a cream coloured heavy poundage paper.
The piece will be packed flat and safely secured within several layers of cardboard.
